Dialogue! It’s happening! In fact, it’s happening all year long. I promise that’s not a threat. More of an amuse-bouche.
Why dialogue? Because it’s one of my favorite things to write, and one of the most complex. With so many moving parts and so many ways to do it well (and poorly), it’s hard to encapsulate it all, though valiant efforts exist. You may already be familiar with the oodles of existing advice and scholarship on dialogue: make it realistic, cut the fluff, include subtext. But that advice is generic at best, unhelpful at worst. Hardly any of it explores how to do any of this stuff, or apply it to your own work.
That’s why I created Interiority. You likely know by now that around here, we don’t just skim the surface of writercraft like so many pebbles bouncing off so many ponds. Instead, Interiority is here to dive deep, giving you actual advice that helps you actually refine your own writing. Actually.
